Part two in a series of features on maximising the use of RSS for travel sites. You may be interested in reading part one on: setting up a feed reader for using RSS feeds and part three on: 10 Essential Tips for Streamlining RSS Feeds.
I used to spend a lot of time trying to keep on top of anything travel related and it’s a mountain of a task at its easiest. The advent of RSS feed readers has cut down this time significantly. Below are 50 travel sites that I read regularly and use their RSS feeds to keep on top of. There’s everything from travel blogs to gadget reviews, but ultimately (and hopefully) they’ll be something of use to you, even if it’s just one or two sites you hadn’t seen before.

If you’re anything like me, you’re not about to manually add 50 feeds to your reader from some blog you’ve never heard of, so I’ve made them available as an
OPML file. All you need to do is download this and upload it via whichever feed reader you use to automatically add them all. Or, if you’re even lazier than that, I’ve made all the feeds available on my public
Netvibes Universe, which you could just bookmark and view whenever.
This list isn’t meant to be a definitive resource, please feel free to make suggestions of glaring omissions or simply feeds you use which I (and others) may not have come across before.

Hi there,
Great to see our site make your travel podcasts section; thanks. We’ve been working hard on it over the last six months, so it’s better than ever. Since we’re a podcast, here’s a direct iTunes link for the Indie Travel Podcast.
There’s a few links on here I haven’t tried before…gotta check ‘em out.
Yeah, ditto. It’s great to see the TravelPod forums made the cut too! Everybody in the TravelPod community has been working hard at answering all kinds of tough travel questions and debating important travel-related issues. We’re also having ….wait for it…. *gasp*… fun too. Come see what’s cookin’ in the TravelPod travel forums

Thanks for the kind mention. I subscribe to most of these feeds, now I have to check out the rest.
I am brand new to the travel blogging game and have been searching for information like this for a few weeks- so it is great finding a quality list of resources in one spot- thanks for all of your hard work!
thanks for the mention:
our main site is http://www.travolution.co.uk, rather than the blogspot site. we also have an industry podcast. :-)
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the mention. If you are on Facebook, you might want to consider joining a couple of the travel 2.0 groups (or mentioning them). The ones I recommend are:
Travel 2.0 – Travel & Tourism Technology and the Internet
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=2718636302
T-List – Travel Blogger Community
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/group.php?gid=2416336297
Thanks for all the kind comments.
I’ve made a note of those suggestions and when I come across a few more sites, I’ll do some sort of bulk update to incorporate them all.
Stephen – alas I’m not on Facebook, however I am very intrigued now as to what goes on in these groups and what I’m missing out on.
Thank you so much for the mention of Geeky Traveller, and also thank you for such a great list of feeds. I’ll be checking them out!
Great list but not quite complete without my Europe a la Carte blog
http://www.europealacarte.co.uk/blog
A multi author blog about authentic travel in Europe on a modest budget.
Awesome list and great resource for those of us that have travel related sites. Thanks for the list and feel free to check out my site :o)
